The Chief of Staff to the President, Prof Ibrahim Gambari, on Thursday, received some traditional rulers from Anambra State at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The state government had earlier in the day suspended the monarchs for one year for travelling out of the state without permission.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, announced their visit in a statement titled, ‘Anambra monarchs laud President Buhari for developmental strides in South East’.
Adesina said the traditional rulers expressed appreciation to President Muhammadu Buhari for his commitment to the development of the country in general, and the South-East in particular.
“As it is generally said in most parts of the country, when you thank somebody for what he has done, he is encouraged and does more. This is an incentive for the President to do more for the country, and also for the South East,” Gambari reportedly said.
According to the statement, the royal fathers listed the landmark projects embarked upon by Buhari in their region to include “the Second Niger Bridge, that had been presented as an impossible task by previous administrations, but now becoming a reality under your keen watch,” the Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, among others.
“The people of the South East are, indeed, grateful, as we have never had it so good, and on their behalf, we say Daalu (thank you).”
The monarchs included HRM Eze Dr Nkeli Nzekwe, HRM Igwe Chuba Mbakwe, HRM Igwe Chijioke Nwankwo, HRH Igwe Anthony Onwekwelu, and HRH Igwe Chukwuma Bobo Orji.
According to eyewitnesses accounts, the suspect, who presented himself as a Soldier, was a passenger in a commercial bus that obstructed traffic flow on the busy road, waiting for passengers.
The suspect was angered by the order issued by the traffic Police Woman to the driver to move his vehicle away from the main road to pave way for free flow of traffic.
He claimed that the police woman did not accord him the respect he deserves as a Soldier seated in the front seat of the bus.
That she was wrong to have challenged the driver while he was there.
During questioning, the suspect stated that he spent four months in the Nigerian Army Depot, Zaria, Kaduna State in 2002 but was dismissed from training on mental health grounds.
Ayeni said since then, he has been posing as a soldier.
He has a wife and a daughter who left him six months ago.

The leading candidates for the September 19 governorship election in Edo State, Governor Godwin Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP; and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, are in a rat race of sorts for the support of traditional rulers in the state.
Since the campaigns started, the duo have received a flood of royal blessings, endorsements and titles, which their campaign councils have bandied separately as having the support of the grassroots.
The trend continued yesterday.
At the palace of the Ogieneni of Uzairue, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Kadiri Imonikhe Omogbai IV, the monarch conferred the Onoshiorena of Uzairue (He that God has crowned) chieftaincy title on Obaseki.
Ogieneni also installed the Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu, as the Oshiozekhai (It is God that Chooses) of Uzairue. Shaibu is from the Uzairue clan in Etsako West local government area.
“You have good men around you. I promise you that Uzairue people will give you 100 per cent vote. I will also like to make some appeals to you. I want your government to upgrade the Uzairue Market to a modern one.”
In a related development, the Otaru of Auchi who is also the Vice-Chairman of the Edo State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliru Momoh Ikelebe III, conferred a title ‘Itsemakhoma’ of Auchi (this is our own) on Ize-Iyamu, when the APC candidate paid a visit to his palace.
He hinged the conferment and honour on Ize-Iyamu’s love for the people, track record of performance in his previously held government positions, and deep respect for the traditional institution in the State.
The Otaru said the Auchi sacred kingdom was proud of Ize-Iyamu and his achievements.
Also The Otu of Igarra, High Chief Joseph Mayaki Akpeji, according to Prince John Mayaki, Chairman, Edo State APC Media Campaign Council, donated the sum of one million naira to Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and his running mate, Mallam Gani Audu.
He made the donation on behalf of the Eziobe traditional council, Akoko Edo, on Thursday when the APC candidate visited his palace.
The National Bureau of Statistics has finally released data on the nation’s unemployment rate after an 20-month interval, saying the unemployment rate rose to 27.1 per cent in the second quarter of 2020 from the 23.1 per cent recorded in Q3 2018.
The NBS, in its ‘Labor Force Statistics: Unemployment and Underemployment Report’ released on Friday, said underemployment rate increased from 20.1 per cent in Q3 2018 to 28.6 per cent in Q2 2020.
It said, “For the period under review, Q2 2020, the unemployment rate among young people (15-34 years) was 34.9 per cent, up from 29.7 per cent, while the rate of underemployment for the same age group rose to 28.2 per cent from 25.7 per cent in Q3 2018.
“These rates were the highest when compared to other age groupings.”
The NBS said the number of persons in the economically active or working age population (15 – 64 years of age) increased to 116,871,186 from 115,492,969 in Q3 2018.
“Of this number, those within the age bracket of 25-34 were highest, with 23,328,460 or 29.1 per cent of the labour force.”
The statistics office said the total number of people in employment in Q2 2020 fell by 15.8 per cent 58,527,276, compared to Q3 2018.
“Of this number, 35,585,274 were full-time employed (i.e. worked 40+ hours per week), while 22,942,003 were under-employed (i.e. working between 20-29 hours per week),” it added.
According to the report, Imo State reported the highest rate of unemployment with 48.7 per cent, followed by Akwa-Ibom State and Rivers State with 45.2 per cent and 43.7 per cent respectively.
It said Anambra recorded the lowest rate of unemployment at 13.1 per cent.
The NBS said, “For underemployment, the state which recorded the highest rate was Zamfara with 43.7 per cent, while Anambra State recorded the lowest underemployment rate, with 17 per cent in Q2 2020.
“A total number of 2,736,076 did not do any work in the last seven days preceding the survey due to the lockdown but had secure jobs to return to after the lockdown.”
Unknown gunmen, on Thursday night, killed a member of Bauchi State House of Assembly and kidnapped his two wives and a year-old son.
DAILY POST gathered Friday morning that the lawmaker, Honourable Musa Mante Baraza, was killed in his hometown, Dass, the headquarters of Dass Local Government Area of the State.
The deceased represented Dass State Constituency in the state Assembly.
A member of the House, Hon Abdul Ahmed Bura, confirmed the incident to DAILY POST on telephone.
He said, “It is true. That is how we heard the sad news of his death.”
Bura also confirmed the kidnapping of the deceased lawmaker’s wives and son, adding that as of this morning, the kidnapped women and child are still with the gunmen at an unknown destination.

A woman in the city went one morning to her husband’s office to report him to his boss. She told her husband’s boss how her husband usually squandered his N60,000 salary and only gave her N30,000 for upkeep.
After her narration, the boss told her to come back on the last day of the month.
On the set day, she arrived as planned. The boss called the husband and they all sat down in the boss’ office.
The boss started,’ Mr. Mike, you wife reported to me some days ago that you squander your salary outside and only give the family N30,000 for upkeep. So right now, I’m going to personally hand over your salaries to her from today henceforth.’
‘How much is you transportation to work daily?’, the boss asked. ‘N900 sir’, Mr. Mike replied. The boss handed over N19,800 to Mr. Mike. ‘That should take you for 22 days’.
‘Do you take breakfast at home?’, the boss continued. ‘No sir, I leave home very early to beat traffic jam’. ‘How much do you spend on breakfast and lunch daily?’ ‘N500 sir’,replied Mr. Mike. The boss handed over N11,000 to Mr. Mike.
‘Who pays the children’s school fees’, the boss asked facing Mrs. Mike. ‘He does’, she replied pointing at Mr. Mike. ‘How much is the school fees and how many kids have you?’ ‘N30,000 per term for the two kids we have?’ ‘In other words, you save N10,000 monthly for each term’s school fees right?’ ‘Yes sir’, replied Mr. Mike. Once again, the boss handed N10,000 to him.
‘Who pays the rent and how much is it?’ ‘I do sir. The rent is N36,000 per annum.’ Mr. Mike replied. ‘That’s N3,000 monthly right?’, the boss added as he handed over N3,000 to Mr. Mike.
‘I don’t want to ask about clothings, electricity bills,etc as I know both of you might be handling that’, the boss said as he handed over N16,200 to Mrs. Mike. ‘What’s this for sir’, Mrs. Mike asked surprised. ‘Money for upkeep’, the boss replied her. ‘But it wouldn’t take us anywhere’, she exclaimed. ‘So why don’t you appreciate the N30, 000 your husband sacrifices for you monthly’, the boss asked. The woman hugged her husband tightly and the rest is history.
Moral: A lot of women don’t know what their husbands sacrifice to put food on the table. Most times, they go hungry. Sometimes, they swallow their pride and engage in menial and debasing jobs just so their families can eat. A lot of times, they can’t even buy good clothes to wear rather they sacrifice so that their wives and kids can get one.
A man might not tell you what he goes through to get you the cash he gives to you as telling you might make you start underrating his person but to tell you the truth, men go through a lot and need to be appreciated.
SLEEPING TOGETHER Sleeping together is a must for every married couple.
It doesn’t matter if you have 50 rooms in your house, it doesn’t matter if your children have a room for themselves, but it is very important that the couple sleeps on the same bed in the same room.
The wife can have her own room where she keeps most of her belonging, female friends and family can sleep in wife’s room whenever they pay a visit.
Many couple sleep together only when they want to make love, and after having sex, they both go to their separate rooms. This habit is not good enough.
Don’t sleep together only when you want to have sex.
When couple sleep together, they gist, talk, romance each other, all this thing rekindled love and enhance intimacy between husband and wife.
Quarrel and pending unresolved matters can easily be attended to and resolved amicably when on the bed together.
Body contact of a couple is very important, everything is not about sex, when you sleep together you create awareness and bond.
Note this, when a couple sleeps in separate rooms, they can both fall into temptation because there will be freedom to relate with the opposite sex which can lead to adultery.
EATING TOGETHER Eating together is another thing that can bring intimacy between husband and wife.
Eat together at least once in a day.
If possible eat together on the same plate, if not, eat at the same time.
Eating together as a family gives you a sense of belonging.
Wife, if your husband is likely to return very late at night from work, you can take light food to suppress hunger till he comes back. Make sure you eat together at least once a day.
BATHING TOGETHER: Bating together is fun.
Bathing together is romantic.
Married couples should cultivate the habit of bathing together. This should be done regularly most especially at night when the children are asleep.
GOOD COMMUNICATION Communication is one of the vital ingredients of a successful marriage.
Good communication is healthy for your marriage.
There is power in communication as it energized the couple and also binds them together as one. Don’t toy or failed to have good communication together often. By this, it shows you are both committed and your relationship is still alive functioning. Communication is what takes your relationship to the next level. Any marriage that lost its communication lost its breath.
DATING Dating is not limited to singles alone. Married couples should find time to go on a date too.
You can fix a day out of your busy schedule to go out on a date.
This type of dating does not involve children, you go out with your spouse and have fun.
Going out on a date often can strengthen your love and your intimacy with your spouse.
PLAY TOGETHER You need to see your spouse as your best friend, feel free to relate and play together.
Don’t operate like Boss and employee.
You need to see yourself as one and as a playmate.
Don’t be too serious to the point of not leaving a room to play together.
Watch movies together, read the word of God together, share ideas together, play games together…
PRAY TOGETHER Couples that pray together stay together. When you hold hands and pray, you connect with your spouse spiritually and physically.
When you pray together, you speak with one voice, you agree together spiritually.
Praying together regularly can do signs and wonders in your marriage.

He said that the erroneous narrative was being pushed by unscrupulous elements with a nefarious agenda. According to him, Fulani people were in the minority in the federal civil service compared to Yoruba and Igbo people.
