Doddapalliah, a 95-year-old man from has reportedly never his hair since birth which is now about 24 feets (7.3 meters) long.
The man who hails from India’s Karnataka state has to bundle his long hair into a huge and entangled ball on top his head and tie it with a cloth to help him move around.
At 95, his hair poses a hindrance to his movement but rather than cut it, he asks for help from people around to help him tie it.
Many people in his home town of Molakalmuru, Chitradurga district (himself inclusive) consider him a human deity, a demigod sort of.
He hasn’t cut his hair in nearly a century for fear of losing his status as a human god.
In a short clip shared by Newsflare, a frail-looking Doddapalliah can be seen squinting in pain as a couple of people work to untangle the entangled mess on top of his head for a photoshoot. It doesn’t look like his hair has been washed in a while either, which would explain the thick, hard-looking dreadlocks.
Doddapalliah is not the only male Rapunzel as there is an Indian man Sakal Dev Tuddu who hasn’t cut his hair in over 40 years and a Chinese man who had allegedly not cut his hair in 54 years.
There is also “male Rapunzel” Savjibhai Rathwa, who kept his 19-meter-long hair in a black rope wrapped around his right arm.
Think of all these people when next you freak out about not being able to visit the salon for an extended period of time.

President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended no fewer than 11 senior officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, as the probe of the shenanigans under the stewardship of disgraced Ibrahim Magu deepened.
The suspension of the officials was also to allow for unfettered investigation of the commission.
“All the top officials in the agency have been suspended, their offices locked, to prevent any tampering with files at the commission”, the source added.
President Buhari suspended Ibrahim Magu, the former acting chairman of the agency last week and appointed the director of operations, Mohammed Umar Abba, to hold forte.
The source said Umar Abba survived the temporary purge, as he was found not to be a part of the suspected underhand dealings in the agency.
Olukoyede became the Secretary to the EFCC in November 2018 following confirmation by the Senate.
The Ikere-Ekiti born lawyer was a former chief of staff to Magu.
He replaced Emmanuel Aremo, whose five-year tenure expired in July 2018.
The former acting chairman of the agency is facing for the second week, grilling by the presidential panel headed by Justice Ayo Salami, over financial allegations and improprieties, including money laundering.
He is facing tough questioning over allegations that he re-looted funds recovered by the commission. And that he accepted bribes to pervert cases of graft.
He is also accused of mismanagement of recovered assets by the EFCC.
Among the issues Magu is helping the panel to resolve are wide discrepancies in figures of recovered monies published by the agency.
The panel has also asked him to react to the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit(NFIU) report accusing him of siphoning money from the EFCC.
NFIU report showed that a particular Bureau de Change, owned by Ahmed Ibrahim Shanono linked to the Acting Chairman based in Kaduna has more than 158 accounts and has been receiving huge sums of funds.
The report also accused Magu of laundering money through Pastor Emmanuel Omale of Hand of God Prophetic Ministry.
Omale was alleged to have bought a landed property on behalf of Magu worth N573 million in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
“Another individual who is helping in laundering funds for the Acting Chairman and who has been referred to in several petitions is one Pastor Emmanuel Omale (Hand of God Prophetic Ministry).
“He is reported to have traveled to Dubai with Mr. Magu and his name was used in purchasing property in Dubai for Mr Magu.
“As an unknown pastor, the NFIU’s report showed huge movement of funds ranging from N573,228,040.41,’’ the report said.
Omale has denied laundering money for Magu.
Magu has also been accused of allegedly failing to give proper account of missing 332 out of the 836 recovered real estate property as of March, 2018
• WAEC consulting other W’African countries on WASSCE date – Minister

There were strong indications on Wednesday that some state governments were on a collision course with the Federal Government over their pupils’ participation in the 2020 West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination.
Investigations by The PUNCH showed that six South-West states, Ebonyi and Cross River states had started preparing to recall their pupils in preparation for the examination.
The plan contradicts the decision of the Federal Government, which after the Federal Executive Council meeting on July 8, said it had suspended the plan to recall graduating pupils for WASSCE.
On Monday, there was confusion over the resumption as the Federal Ministry of Education issued guidelines for the reopening of schools, but failed to indicate the resumption date.
Before the Federal Government’s decision at the July 8 FEC meeting, the National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Dr Sani Aliyu, at the PTF press conference on June 29, had said, “Pupils in graduating classes – only graduating classes; Primary 6, JSS 3 and SSS3 – will be allowed to resume in preparation for examinations.”
Amid the confusion at the federal level, some state governments on Wednesday began preparations for their pupils to sit for WASSCE.
S’West states ready to allow pupils to sit for WASSCE – DAWN
The Development Agenda for Western Nigeria said the South-West states had signified their readiness to allow their pupils to sit for the 2020 WASSCE.
The Director General of DAWN, Seye Oyeleye, in a statement he issued on Wednesday, said the decision was part of the resolutions made by the state governments at the end of an online meeting initiated on Tuesday by the commission.
The meeting was held in collaboration with the forum of South-West education commissioners, special advisers on education and the state universal basic education board chairmen.
According to the statement, the meeting was premised on the need to jointly agree on modalities for the 2020 WASSCE, resumption of schooling activities for the Senior Secondary School 3 pupils and other allied matters.
It stated, “The forum, after careful deliberations, considering peculiarities of each state and options available reached a consensus on the subject matters and expresses thus: On WASSCE; state commissioners for education have signified readiness to enrol pupils for the 2019/2020 examination.”
S’West proposes August 3 as resumption date for SSS3
It explained that considering the peculiarities of each state, the forum reached a consensus that at least by August 3, the SSS3 pupils should resume.
States to approach FG, WAEC for postponement of exam by three weeks
The forum added, “States should approach the Federal Government at the first instance seeking the postponement of the WASSCE by at least three weeks from the proposed resumption. At the second instance, states should directly approach WAEC (the West African Examinations Council) to seek an extension of the WASSCE, to week commencing August 24.”
The forum added that all schools when reopening should have in place incident managers and that wardens should be appointed for every classroom.
It added that there would be “intense advocacy campaigns of the stakeholders – parents, teachers, caregivers, proprietress/head teachers, and the pupils – on what is expected of them when schools resume.”
The state governments also urged WAEC to encourage the use of computer-based tests while each state should deliberately intensify efforts and invest more in education technology.
On his part, the Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade on Education, Castro Ezama, in an interview with one of our correspondents, said, “Very soon the pupils will resume. We are concluding arrangements for that to happen. We have not fixed a date yet.”
Also, the Ebonyi State Government said schools would be opened in the state between August and September.
The state Governor, David Umahi, stated this on Wednesday, during a virtual meeting of the executive council in Abakaliki, the state capital.
According to Umahi, reopening of schools in the state would be done in phases.
Umahi said, “The public should note that Ebonyi State will reopen her schools immediately, not in the month of July, we have to start the process that will lead us probably to reopen our schools between August and September.”
Imo, Delta discussing with parents, other stakeholders
On its part, the Imo State Government said that it was consulting with the stakeholders in the education sector as well as parents on the best guidelines to adopt before recalling pupils for WASSCE.
The Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on print media, Modestus Nwamkpa, told one of our correspondents on the phone that the modalities would be reached before the pupils were recalled.
The acting Chief Press Secretary to Bayelsa State Governor, Mr Daniel Alabrah, in a chat with one of our correspondents, said, “The state government will take a position that will be consistent with whatever position the Federal Government has taken.”
Also, the Anambra State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, C-Don Adinuba, told The PUNCH that the state would follow the plan of the Federal Government.
The Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Mr Foluso Daramola, said that the resolutions of the meeting of the South-west states with DAWN would be released by the commission.
The commissioner, reacting to a report that the state government had fixed August 3 for the reopening of its schools for primary six, JSS 3 and SSS 3 pupils, said, “It may be a tentative arrangement.”
FG insists school resumption not safe yet
But the Federal Government on Wednesday insisted that it was not yet safe to reopen schools that were shut as part of efforts to curtail the spread of COVID-19.
The Minister of State, Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, said this while briefing State House correspondents at the end of the eighth virtual Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).
WAEC consulting, other West African countries to change WASSCE date — Govt
The minister also hinted that WAEC was consulting other West African countries with a view to deciding whether to change the date of its examination.
He stated, “WAEC, on its own part, is also negotiating with other West African countries to look at possible shift in date and once they are through with that meeting and hopefully when we are also through with the consultations, if there is any change in the ministry’s position, we will communicate.”
But the Secretary-General of the Yoruba Council of Elders, Dr Kunle Olajide, said the decision of the Federal Government to withdraw Nigerian students from WASCCE was in order.
Olajide said this in an interview with one of our correspondents in Ibadan on Wednesday

Police in Yakima, Washington, have arrested a 19-year-old woman who was allegedly caught on a Ring doorbell camera raping two boys under the age of 10.
Camera Filmed Woman Performing Oral Sex on Children
According to Yakima police, the doorbell camera filmed the woman, identified as Miah R. Lopez, performing oral sex on the underage boys in the breezeway outside the apartment. Lopez is reportedly a resident of the apartment complex, where the alleged rape took place.
Police said the suspect was still at the complex when they arrived at the location and allegedly tried to flee when an officer approached her by running off in the opposite direction through the breezeway. The news comes a week after a man was arrested by the Yakima Police Department last week for molesting and raping a 9-year-old boy. The boy’s mother told officers she had noticed bruising on the child’s lip and during an interview, the child told detectives that 43-year-old Rosendo Vargas Montoy had done “something bad” to him and the bruising was a result of Montoy having physical contact with him.
Montoy had allegedly raped the child and performed other sexual acts, according to authorities. He was charged with child molestation, and rape of a child of the first degree.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu-Obafemi Hamzat administration says that the issues have been long held in the neck of the government and has put necessary measures in place to mitigate climate change-induced environmental challenges in the state.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, while addressing this issue talked about measures in place to explore effective urban planning, developmental control, drainage designs, dredging, construction of drainage channels, and environmental education to mitigate all climate change-induced problems confronting the state. He discussed it with other government agencies.
This is what he plans to achieve from 2020-2022.
1. Following the predictions of Nigerian Meteorological Agency NIMET, who said Lagosians should prepare for 240-270 days of rains. Gov Sanwo-Olu said that his administration will embark on extensive dredging of water channel projects across the state.
Based on this, he said the government has started the project on massive desilting of drains, clearing of culverts with identification of black spots, in preparation for the rains to come.
2. In collaboration with the Governor, Mr. Tunji Bello, the State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources disclosed that some bad channels that stop the flow of water have been worked on, while 83 are been maintained and 40 new Channels have been approved by the Governor to be constructed. The Commissioner said that 34 channels out of the 40 that has been mapped out for construction have started.
3. Sanwo-Olu has assured and plans to maintain and sustain the long-established synergy and partnership with Ogun – Osun River Development Authority. The reason is that the partnership will ensure control and monitoring of the steady and systematic release of water from the Oyan Dam to prevent flooding of the release of the downstream communities.
4. In the area of waste management, Senior Special Assistant to Governor on Media, Mr. Babatunde Alao, said that Sanwo-Olu administration has repositioned the Lagos Waste Management Authority LAWMA, for an effective and resourceful waste management program towards the elimination of refuse in the state.
Also with the support of the Public Sector Participation operators, he stated that LAWMA has successfully cleaned most wastes dumped and littered in different parts of the state.
5. Sanwo-Olu said his administration has acquired 10 new boats to boost marine waste collection in collaboration with the Food and Beverage Recycling Alliance.
This will help in preserving aquatic flora and Duna in the state in line with government policies on constant clean-up for a better aesthetic environment.
6. Regarding beautification and development of parks and gardens, Sanwo-Olu maintained that they have been improved upon, adding that Oregun park and others across the state were being designed to promote relaxation, recreation, and picnic.
He added that LAWMA also introduced the construction, demolition, and Disaster Waste Management initiative to prevent, minimize, reuse, recycle, recover and dispose of waste, adding that the Blue Box initiative was introduced to the system to encourage separation of recyclables materials from the general waste.
7. He disclosed that five community recycling centers have been activated in five local council development areas with recyclers strategically positioned to help drive the process.
The Governor has advised Lagos, residents, to get prepared for coming rains, they should take responsibility for there belongings and help the government by avoiding littering the streets and gutters and then be assured that the government would continue to reap the gains of planning, as the flood control measures in the state had been stepped up to contain any unforeseen weather condition and flooding.
This Is what the governor Sanwo-Olu of Lagos plans to achieve in this raining season.
Do you think his claims are attainable? Or the just promises?
Women usually deliver their babies through two methods;
1) Spontaneous V*ginal Delivery
2) Caesarean Section/C-section/CS
It is important to note that no method of delivery is superior to the other. Even though doctors would prefer the spontaneous v*ginal delivery, the C-section becomes an option when the life of either the mother or the baby is at stake.
There are some situations where the doctor will suggest a surgical operation (C-section) for safe delivery.
Some of these situations include;
1) Two Previous C-sections
If you have had two previous operations to deliver a baby, you should be prepared for another operation if you so happen to become pregnant again. This is because operations on the womb may weaken it and the womb might not be able to withstand the stress of labour. Allowing labour on a woman who has had two previous operations on the womb may lead to rupture of that womb which is life threatening.
2) Small Pelvis Ratio
In common parlance, some people may refer to the pelvis as the hips. The ratio of the ‘hips’ to the baby’s size is important.
If the baby is too big to pass through the pelvis, there is no way that baby will be delivered through the common route.
A C-section would be the best option.
3) Malpresentations
This can be detected through scans. Normally, a baby should come, with the head at the front facing downwards.
Sometimes, a baby may lie in abnormal positions known as malpresentations. This may prolong labour and warrant an operation.
4) Poor Labour Progress
The rate of widening of the cervix can be used as an indicator for good labour progress.
In a normal active labour, the cervix is meant to widen at the rate of 1cm per hour. If the cervix does not widen for 4 hours during active labour, the labour is deemed as ‘failure to progress’ and this is an indication for a C-section.
5) Diabetes in Pregnancy
This is not an absolute reason for an operation but a lot of times in mothers who are diabetic during pregnancy, the baby tends to grow really big. This makes delivery through the v*ginal route difficult and a C-section might be the best option.
Others
There are a whole lot of other reasons that may necessitate a C-section to be done. Some of these were not listed due to the need to make this article concise and the technicalities involved in explaining them.
Some of these include;
-Old age at first pregnancy
-Long history of infertility
-Baby in distress
-Placenta problems
-Severe hypertension in pregnancy
Among others.
Bottom Line
In some African societies, some women are made jest of because they were delivered of their babies through operation. This should be frowned upon as the decision concerning the mode of delivery is taken by the doctor with the thought of saving both mother and baby.
