Gov. Wike praises Buhari, begs President to visit Rivers State

Published

on June 30, 2020

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has thanked President Muhammadu Buhari, describing him as indeed a president of every state of the federation.

Wike stated this in a letter he addressed to the president, thanking him for releasing the sum N78.9 billion the Rivers Government used in maintenance of Federal roads in the State.null

The Federal government had earlier in the month approved the refund of over N78billion to the Rivers State government for the money spent on the construction of federal roads in the State.

The approval for the refund was made at the third virtual Federal Executive Council meeting at the State House, presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

This followed a memo presented by the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola.null

The Governor, in the letter, also promised that his administration is willing and ready to partner with Buhari-led government “to advance the developmental inspirations of Rivers State in particular, and Nigeria in general.”

The outspoken Rivers Governor further pleaded with the President to “kindly oblige us a State visit… to see what we have accompany for our people with the money.”

Recall that Wike had recently berated the Federal Government for deliberately neglecting Rivers State in the release of N148billion for roads construction across the country.null

The Governor declared that the action of the Federal Government is the most shameful act of marginalisation in a Federation where Rivers State contributes to the financial sustenance of the country.

He said Rivers politicians in APC should be able to plead with the Federal Government to site projects in Rivers State to expand their political relevance.

Federal Government states that Only final year students should be allowed to resume.

We are gradually and surely getting back to normality and hopefully everything will get back to normal as usual. However, new Covid-19 cases keep increasing everyday. It’s no news that the FG has extended the eased lockdown for another 4 weeks, starting from Tuesday 30th 2020. And some other adjustments were also made relating to travellers and students.https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-1883810847636355&output=html&h=316&slotname=8228856220&adk=3740527632&adf=3872947312&w=379&fwrn=7&lmt=1593540960&rafmt=11&psa=1&guci=2.2.0.0.2.2.0.0&format=379×316&url=https%3A%2F%2Fcdn-af.feednews.com%2Fnews%2Fdetail%2F7dc6bc64f6c34948456f3b62988d9f05%3Fclient%3Dnews%26country%3Dng%26features%3D34359738287%26lang%3Den%26language%3Den%26low_perf%3Dfalse%26mode%3Dbody%26swdp%3D411%26uid%3D59ea195a14c73245908b3459860979f93f145498&flash=0&wgl=1&dt=1593540960000&bpp=43&bdt=3676&idt=408&shv=r20200624&cbv=r20190131&ptt=9&saldr=aa&abxe=1&cookie=ID%3Dbfccbcf8a42396e0%3AT%3D1593270663%3AS%3DALNI_Mbc8LWNEg_5axTkJLfxjDY4m1AD8w&prev_fmts=0x0&nras=1&correlator=7956449685337&frm=20&pv=1&ga_vid=2046445851.1593270573&ga_sid=1593540960&ga_hid=195643693&ga_fc=0&iag=0&icsg=8923903&dssz=13&mdo=0&mso=0&rplot=4&u_tz=60&u_his=1&u_java=0&u_h=892&u_w=412&u_ah=892&u_aw=412&u_cd=24&u_nplug=0&u_nmime=0&adx=16&ady=613&biw=412&bih=719&scr_x=0&scr_y=0&eid=21065724%2C21066485%2C42530493%2C42530495&oid=3&pvsid=579046593793976&pem=714&rx=0&eae=0&fc=1924&brdim=0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C412%2C0%2C412%2C719%2C412%2C719&vis=1&rsz=%7C%7CoEe%7C&abl=CS&pfx=0&fu=8336&bc=31&ifi=1&uci=a!1&fsb=1&xpc=O9n2zmexAF&p=https%3A//cdn-af.feednews.com&dtd=462

The emergence of Covid-19 forced the federal government to put a ban on interstate travelling in a bid to curb the virus. However, the good news now is that according the secretary of the government of the federation and the PTF Chairman Boss Mustapha, the government has given permission to travels from one state to another. But warned that this travels should be within the curfew hours and this takes effect from July 1st 2020.

Now, for those who have been eagerly waiting for school to resume, talking about the SS 3, JSS 3 and PRY 6 student. The Federal Government has said that only students in those classes are allowed to return to school.

Also for university students, only those who are in their final year are allowed to resume classes in preparation for their examinations. However a date hasn’t been mentioned, maybe we will hear some development in the coming hours.

So what do you think about this, do you think it’s right for the travel ban to be lifted when cases are massively increasing everyday and do you think only final year students should be allowed to resume? Please comment so I can know what you think and I will surely reply back. Don’t forget to follow me, like and share. Thanks.

Grocery store is in a mess

At the grocery store this morning and heard a loud crash and something shattering. Being nosy, I walked towards the sound and saw some people whispering and looking back to the end of the next aisle. When I walked down that aisle, I saw an older lady had hit a shelf and many things had fallen to the ground and broke. She was kneeling on the floor embarrassed, frantically trying to clean up.
I felt so bad for her, and everyone was just standing there staring at her. So I went and knelt beside her and told her not to worry and started helping her pick up the broken pieces. After about a minute, the store manager came and knelt beside us and said, “Leave it, we will clean this up.” The lady, totally embarrassed said, “I need to pay for all this first.” The manager smiled, helped her to her feet and said, “No ma’am, we have insurance for this, you do not have to pay anything!”
If you have read this far, I would like for you to give me a minute. Wherever you are, close your eyes, and imagine God doing the same for you!
Collecting the pieces of your broken heart from all the blows life has thrown at you. The bill for your faults, sin and folly has already been paid through the precious blood of Christ. God will heal all your wounds. He wants to gently lift you to your feet again, clean up your mess, and pick up all the broken pieces. He wants to heal you! He wants to take care of your soul!
We can have that same insurance and it’s called GRACE! 💪💪

President Muhammadu Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari The Nigerian government has hinted it might order another lockdown across the country. This was made public by Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF who insisted that such an order won’t be out of place, considering the increasing number of COVID-19 cases across the country. The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 stated this during the Thursday’s daily briefing of the committee. He stressed that the way Nigerians are romancing the virus was an indication of danger in the nearest future. According to Mustapha: “This is the time to lock down if it were within my power. This is the time to lock down because I can see the attitude of people romancing with COVID-19.“The daily increase in confirmed cases, the federal government feels a sense of frustration because we can see glaringly the danger ahead and you can see the level of recklessness on the part of people who should know better.”

He told TV2 in Norway: “I interviewed Klopp for Sky, and I asked if he and Liverpool were created for each other. He looked at me and asked ‘Why?’

“Then Klopp told me he could have taken over Manchester United, but his wife said it wasn’t right.

“When Liverpool arrived, his wife said it was right. There is something strange there. It is as if he’s created for Liverpool.”

Well, perhaps it wasn’t meant to be, but the revelation definitely does make one wonder what could have been had Klopp agreed to come to Old Trafford.https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-5720916794821952&output=html&h=343&slotname=9684250924&adk=3824863290&adf=946533259&w=412&ebfa=1&lmt=1593334330&rafmt=1&psa=1&guci=2.2.0.0.2.2.0.0&format=412×343&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.themanunitedfans.com%2F2020%2F06%2F27%2Frevealed-how-jurgen-klopp-almost-joined-manchester-united%2F&flash=0&fwr=1&fwrattr=true&rpe=1&resp_fmts=3&sfro=1&wgl=1&adsid=NT&dt=1593334329992&bpp=14&bdt=1520&idt=815&shv=r20200610&cbv=r20190131&ptt=9&saldr=aa&abxe=1&cookie=ID%3D80011987638e22e3%3AT%3D1593333946%3AS%3DALNI_Ma-RTGvnqEoD6QU4W0N7IieXTdKRQ&crv=1&prev_fmts=0x0%2C412x343%2C412x343%2C412x343%2C412x343&nras=1&correlator=686544698465&frm=20&pv=1&ga_vid=1250637226.1593333858&ga_sid=1593334330&ga_hid=1523540988&ga_fc=0&iag=0&icsg=2531325557603570&dssz=47&mdo=0&mso=0&u_tz=60&u_his=1&u_java=0&u_h=892&u_w=412&u_ah=892&u_aw=412&u_cd=24&u_nplug=0&u_nmime=0&adx=0&ady=3593&biw=412&bih=755&scr_x=0&scr_y=0&oid=3&pvsid=165731349668502&pem=856&rx=0&eae=0&fc=1924&brdim=0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C412%2C0%2C412%2C755%2C412%2C755&vis=1&rsz=%7C%7CleEbr%7C&abl=CS&pfx=0&fu=8336&bc=31&ifi=5&uci=a!5&btvi=4&fsb=1&xpc=qIMej7ZO8W&p=https%3A//www.themanunitedfans.com&dtd=837

But we do have Olé Gunnar Solskjaer now, who’s doing a good job, and may well be on his way to handing us our first Premier League title since 2013 if he continues to do the good work he’s doing.

“The way they defended, they were resolute. They did everything they could in the end, but obviously [Maguire] scored the goal.

“I have the say the United team with the form they’re in, they were rightly favourites. But I thought Norwich were so unlucky in the end.”

Tim Krull was very good in-between the sticks for Norwich, and made some vital saves to deny United a winner before Maguire finally got one past him in the 117th minute, and Wright believes he would have been a threat to us had the game gone to penalties.

“It was a very good save and he made a couple of saves before,” he continued.https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-5720916794821952&output=html&h=343&slotname=9684250924&adk=1019716060&adf=2146835230&w=412&ebfa=1&lmt=1593334097&rafmt=1&psa=1&guci=2.2.0.0.2.2.0.0&format=412×343&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.themanunitedfans.com%2F2020%2F06%2F28%2Farsenal-legend-says-maguire-didnt-deserve-man-of-the-match-award-against-norwich%2F&flash=0&fwr=1&fwrattr=true&rpe=1&resp_fmts=3&sfro=1&wgl=1&adsid=NT&dt=1593334096789&bpp=10&bdt=1976&idt=903&shv=r20200610&cbv=r20190131&ptt=9&saldr=aa&abxe=1&cookie=ID%3D80011987638e22e3%3AT%3D1593333946%3AS%3DALNI_Ma-RTGvnqEoD6QU4W0N7IieXTdKRQ&crv=1&prev_fmts=0x0%2C412x343%2C412x343%2C412x343%2C412x343&nras=1&correlator=387712881214&frm=20&pv=1&ga_vid=1250637226.1593333858&ga_sid=1593334097&ga_hid=1759586880&ga_fc=0&iag=0&icsg=1118102975413490&dssz=49&mdo=0&mso=0&u_tz=60&u_his=1&u_java=0&u_h=892&u_w=412&u_ah=892&u_aw=412&u_cd=24&u_nplug=0&u_nmime=0&adx=0&ady=3613&biw=412&bih=755&scr_x=0&scr_y=0&oid=3&pvsid=2186217472918367&pem=856&rx=0&eae=0&fc=1924&brdim=0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C412%2C0%2C412%2C755%2C412%2C755&vis=1&rsz=%7C%7CleEbr%7C&abl=CS&pfx=0&fu=8336&bc=31&ifi=5&uci=a!5&btvi=4&fsb=1&xpc=5VvLyBB4Ak&p=https%3A//www.themanunitedfans.com&dtd=928

“Losing teams sometimes don’t get [man of the match], but that game is well and truly finished without Tim Krul today.

“I thought he played very well. Looked like he was looking forward to penalties as well, he did everything to get there.”

Well, like Wright rightly said, losing teams don’t get the Man of the match award, and as great as Krull was in the game, they lost to us, and it was only fitting we got the honour too.
