“The way they defended, they were resolute. They did everything they could in the end, but obviously [Maguire] scored the goal.

“I have the say the United team with the form they’re in, they were rightly favourites. But I thought Norwich were so unlucky in the end.”

Tim Krull was very good in-between the sticks for Norwich, and made some vital saves to deny United a winner before Maguire finally got one past him in the 117th minute, and Wright believes he would have been a threat to us had the game gone to penalties.

“Losing teams sometimes don’t get [man of the match], but that game is well and truly finished without Tim Krul today.

“I thought he played very well. Looked like he was looking forward to penalties as well, he did everything to get there.”

Well, like Wright rightly said, losing teams don’t get the Man of the match award, and as great as Krull was in the game, they lost to us, and it was only fitting we got the honour too.
